Trip Description | This is a moderate out-and-back hike on a dirt road to the University of Washington observatory on Manastash Ridge. The hike is about 10 miles round trip with about 1000 feet total elevation gain. The trailhead is located on Wenas Rd. just west of Ellensburg Pass. We may have views of the Stuart Range in the distance if the weather is clear. Bring lunch and 2-3 liters of water. Be prepared for cold windy and rainy conditions. Due to limited parking, the trip will be limited to 12 hikers (or less depending on driver availability). |
