Trip Description | Have you been thinking about joining I-MAC but are not sure if you have what it takes? This trip is a great opportunity to find out. We will do a loop through the Cowiche Canyon Recreation Area. The trail starts at the Scenic Trailhead and wanders through areas of native plants and wildflowers and then winds down to the Cowiche Canyon Trail on the Canyon floor. From there we will follow the Cowiche Canyon trail until it intersects the Tieton Andesite trail and then loop back to the trailhead via the South Rim trail. The total distance should be about 5 miles with a modest elevation gain of about 600 ft. For comparison Badger Mountain’s Canyon Trail is 1.1 mi (from the bottom of the stairs) with about 800 ft elevation gain. Depart at 8:00 am. |
