Trip Description | Have you been thinking about joining I-MAC but are not sure if you have what it takes? This trip is a great opportunity to find out. We will do a loop through the Cowiche Canyon Recreation Area. We’ll start at the Cowiche Canyon Trail East Trailhead and follow the Cowiche Canyon trail for a bit. We’ll branch off at the Tieton trail to get some views and smell the wildflowers. We’ll finish our hike back on the Cowiche Canyon Trail. We’ll keep out total distance to about 5 -6 miles with a modest elevation gain of about 600 ft. For comparison Badger Mountain’s Canyon Trail is 1.1 mi (from the bottom of the stairs) with about 800 ft elevation gain. The trip leader reserves the right to vet the participants. For participants who are completely new to hiking there will be an opportunity to join a conditioning hike the week prior to the trip. |
