Trip Description | Have you been thinking about adding a backpacking trip to your hiking portfolio but are not sure if you have what it takes and if you have all the gear and knowledge needed for it? Or are you just looking for an easy way to get to a camping spot and hanging out with a great group of people by a campfire? Or do you just want to test your backpacking gear on a low stakes trip? If you said yes, to any of these questions this trip is for you! The classification for this trip is BP-2 because it slightly exceeds the 500 ft elevation gain. It will be a 2-day backpacking trip out of Salmon la Sac, upstream from Cle Elum Reservoir. It is also available as a graduation trip for the students who attended the 2025 I-MAC Backpacking school in April. The camp site at Hour Creek is only three miles in and is located beside the river and close to a powerful waterfall. We will stop in Roslyn for drinks and a snack on the way home.
