Trip Description | Snow Mountain Ranch offers a relatively close network of trails near Yakima that we normally walk during the spring wildflower season, but in winter we can either snowshoe or walk, or both, depending on conditions. The terrain is not steep, with little vegetation to block views across the valley to distant ridges. Bring both snowshoes and spikes; we might need both. Bring all ten essentials, as weather can quickly turn dangerous for those without a warm jacket, gloves, and headcap.
If needed, you can rent snowshoes from I-MAC. See the rentals page for details. Contact for ski rental is Jim Langdon hikerjim@imacnw.org 509-943-3992 (no text) |
