Privacy Policy

The Intermountain Alpine Club (I-MAC) has the following policies regarding use of member personal information:

Privacy Notice: We will not distribute your email address to anyone. Period!

But that said, we do have a few more details that we wish you to read and understand. We respect your interest in your privacy and because we wish to protect your privacy interests, we have created this Privacy Policy.

Your Personal Information

We collect and use personal information for several purposes. These may include but will not limited to, communicating with you; membership; billing; events; product and service fulfillment; to seek to better understand your needs; to provide a better website; to improve our products and services; to communicate to visitors and subscribers and customers about our products and services and the third-party products and services we may learn about.

Generally, we will not distribute your email address to anyone outside the company. Period! However, your private information will may be disclosed with the people involved in the management of the club, acting on our behalf or request.

Membership Directory

Member contact information are published in a Membership Directory each year in January. This information is intended solely for personal communication between members. It is not intended, and cannot be used for, any bulk mail, bulk email, and/or otherwise commercial use without the approval of the I-MAC Board.

You have complete control over the data that you would like to be included in the membership profile. If you sign up for an activity, your activity leader will have access to your profile information in order to ensure your safety on the activity. Leaders are held to strict policy guidelines.

We never sell our membership or contact list. We may partner with another nonprofit to disseminate information that we think is of interest and relevance to you and other I-MAC members. In this case, we will send out the information but we will not share your information directly with the partner.

If you do not want your personal information to be included in the membership directory, please contact us.

Financial Information

We sell memberships, tickets to events, and rent equipment. When sales are made financial information must be disclosed. This information can include any number of facts you are asked to provide, but most commonly includes your name, financial / credit card information, billing address, and email address. In the event we do receive financial / credit card information, we will not disclose it to anyone unless disclosure is required by law or a court order, or unless disclosure is required to address an issue implicated by the financial transaction. If you claim that your financial information was used to make a purchase you did not authorize, details about the financial transaction may be disclosed to law enforcement and anyone else we deem necessary to address the matter.

Cookies

We do not use cookies on this site. However, various other parties may use cookies. Examples include, but are not necessarily limited to billing providers, advertisers, third party resources, and social media with links on this site.

Disclosure Out of Necessity

Private information may be disclosed if required by a court order, statute, law, or regulation.

Information is subject to disclosure to address a claim that you are violating the terms of any agreement pertaining to your use of your use this website or our products or services, or rights of any third party.

Information is also subject to disclosure if we believe that disclosure is necessary to identify, contact or bring an action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering (either intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, your rights or property, other users of our website, products or services, or anyone else.

After your account becomes inactive your information may remain in our databases, computers, and archives, and cannot reasonably be expunged.

This policy may be amended by us at any time and without notice, but will be posted at this page.
