Enter the lesser known ancient world we will see to the north of the Ringold River Road, making a few photo op stops along the way of the fantastical geologic formations, millions of years of geologic time represented in the crumbling strata of cliff and ridges. The hike could be 4 miles RT, as we choose, easy walking with 400-600 feet elevation gain up to skyline trails along the ridges. We will start at the always-closed gate at the end of Ringold River Road. We can make a loop by walking from the ridge down to the old road or find a nice sloping pathway down. Bring along the Ten Essentials, lunch, and water. Be prepared for sun, rain, and cold winds. We should be back in Pasco by noon or so. We are leaving early to beat the summer heat. This is an easy, fun hike.
