Iron Bear /Teanaway Ridge, DH-2

George M., george@ghmworld.net

This is a scenic out-and-back hike in the Teanaway area west of Blewett Pass. The hike is about 6-7 miles RT with about
1900 feet total elevation gain. We will start at the Iron Creek trailhead (at the end of NF-9714). Along the way, we will
probably see a lot of wildflowers and have views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Stuart, and various Teanaway peaks. We will hike to
an unnamed peak at 5489-foot elevation where we will have lunch. We will have to drive across the Iron Creek just before the trailhead. Thus, high-ground-clearance vehicles are recommended. Be prepared for rain and cool winds. Bring 2-3 liters of water, 10 Essentials, and lunch. The trip is limited to 12 hikers.
