Highway 410 from Morse Creek, SS-1
Chuck Wierman, firstname.lastname@example.org
Since we couldn’t hold the indoor snowshoeing class this winter due to the COVID restrictions, I thought a beginner snowshoe trip might be appropriate. An easy trip, with early season snow, is to simply walk up Highway 410 from where the road is closed for the winter at Morse Creek. (It is already closed, but I will check conditions right before the trip.) The road is wide, pretty flat, with no brush or tree wells. Perfect for beginners, and experienced snowshoers who want to knock the dust off their shoes. This will be an out and back trip of about and hour and a half each way, which should be about 5 miles and 400’ elevation gain. For “newbies” (folks I don’t know) I would prefer a call to an email, so we can talk about gear, clothing, conditioning, etc. For the old-timers, you know the drill: lots of layers (no cotton), raingear, plenty of food and water, 10 essentials, etc.
Provide your own transportation due to COVID-19. No parking passes are required.
Signup deadline is Thursday, December 17th at 9:00pm. Limit of 10 people (2 groups of 5).
