Hike through an old burn (Watermelon hill fire 2014) up and down basalt channel scab lands, Pine trees, skirt the Owens meadow to an old hut for a hot beverage. Then we will return a different route to the cars parked in the BLM lot on Scroggie road. Dress in layers, bring gloves, lunch and snacks, water and always rain gear. Plan to hike on uneven ground for 6 to 8 miles with an elevation gain of 500 ft.
