Badger Mountain New Year’s Day Hike

Where: Meet at the skyline trailhead off of Dallas Road at 10:30am, see below for directions to the trailhead.

Hike: About 4 miles round trip and 800ft of elevation gain

Sign-up: not required

Everyone is invited to join I-MAC for the annual hike up Badger Mountain on New Year’s Day. This hike has been a tradition with the club for 70 years! Bring your family, friends, neighbors, kids, and dogs…everyone is welcome. The trip goes on regardless of the weather. Just make sure that you dress appropriately (think WARM and DRY), as it is often very windy and cold on top of the mountain. The main bunch of hikers will head up the hill about 10:30am, but if you come a little early or late that’s okay too, just start up the trail when you are ready.

After the hike, come join us for chili and hot drinks in the home of Jim Langdon and Lisa Black. (See Below)

The trailhead is just off of Dallas Road at the top of the hill. To get to Dallas Road, take Keene Road (in South Richland) west to Kennedy Road, then left on Kennedy to Dallas Road, then left (South) on Dallas up the hill to the top. Turn left just past the buildings for the orchard and follow the narrow gravel road straight up the hill 200-300yards to the parking lot. From West Richland, take Bombing Range Road South to the round-about, then continue straight south up the hill on Dallas Road to the Trailhead.
