IMAC is a club with 75 years of experience in mountaineering.\nWhat you’ll learn:\n-Knots\n-Avalanche Awareness\n-How to Rock Climb\n-Anchor Set Ups/Cleaning\n-Trip Planning\nCompass and Navigation\n-Ascending Rope\n-Wilderness First Aid\n-Belaying\n-Rappelling\n-Rope Team Travel\n-Crevasse Rescue Technique\n-Snow Camping\nPrerequisites include:\n•Basic backpacking skills. Be prepared for overnight trips. (if you lack this, inquire about our Backpacking School)\n• Adequate clothing layers and footwear (sturdy waterproof hiking boots at a minimum). A one time group gear rental fee will cover access to harnesses, ice axes, crampons and ropes for the course.\n•Be in good physical condition to hike, climb and summit mountains (we cover conditioning in the class).\n•Willing and able to learn and assist others when needed. Mountaineering is a team sport!\n\n\nWhen\nCourse begins March 4th, 2025 and continues on Tuesday & Wednesday nights and includes 4 weekends. One night is classroom time & the other night is skills practice.
