To make the most of it, we’re going to car camp for three nights at Beverly Campground, and hike for four days from trailheads nearby. Although Beverly Creek and Stafford Creek were burned by the Labor Mountain Fire last summer and consequently might be closed for hiking this summer, there are other fine hikes outside the burn area: Ingalls Pass (8 miles roundtrip, 2400’ elevation gain), Longs Pass (5.4 miles roundtrip, 2000’ gain), Esmeralda Basin and Lake Ann (8.4 miles, 2500’ gain), and the Fortune Pass Loop (11 miles, 2900’ gain).
